Simultaneous Interpreting

Have you ever listened to a voice translating
what your favourite artist is saying on a TV show?

This is simultaneous interpreting, and it does not only happen on TV.

The art of translating orally a speech almost at the same time it is being rendered.

How does it work?

As a professional simultaneous interpreter, I listen to the speech and, after a few seconds, I start translating the message into the target language. This is a complex task which requires two simultaneous actions: understanding the original speech and delivering its translation in a controlled manner.
