Professional Spanish translator and interpreter based in Malaga
As a professional Spanish translator and interpreter based in Malaga, I ensure that two people who do not share the same language can perfectly understand each other.
I like being approachable and accessible with my clients so that they can be familiar with the professional in charge of translating their projects. This way, they feel comfortable to share their concerns with me. As a versatile translator and conference interpreter, I adapt to the needs of each project, and I invest my best effort and dedication into everything I do.
To get to this point, I have been training for years. I graduated in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Malaga, specialising in Simultaneous Conference Interpreting. Then, I moved to Edinburgh and completed the MSc in Interpreting at Heriot-Watt University. Thanks to this, I was able to further specialise in the fields of business, conferences, and public services. Since I was particularly interested in healthcare, I decided to specialise in medical translation. I completed a Master’s Degree in Medical Translation, as well as other complementary medical translation courses.
My first interpreting services were as a volunteer interpreter at events organised by the University of Malaga and Heriot-Watt University. Since then, I have been gaining more experience as conference interpreter. This has led me to provide medical translation services for medical congresses on endovascular surgery, ozone therapy in dentistry or clinical trial inspections, as well as translating informed consent forms, clinical protocols, medical reports, and all kinds of documents related to medical devices.
I have also provided business interpreting for leading companies in the fields of energy production, agricultural and automotive technology, and insurance. In the environmental field, I have helped climate action companies expand their target market and have provided simultaneous interpreting services at conferences on climate change, sustainability, and ecological transition. Lastly, I have also provided interpreting services for cultural meetings, such as the Spanish Film Festival in Scotland, IBERODOCS and a major music festival in Andalusia.
Some of these meetings, conferences and Town Halls have been held in Malaga, the city where I work and live. In many other cases, I have provided online services through videoconferencing platforms, such as Zoom or Teams. If you prefer to see me in action in person, but you are not from Malaga, do not worry. I can travel to wherever the event is being held.
When it comes to translation, I participated in the 2022 edition of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) Blue Book traineeship programme. During this period, I worked in the Spanish translation institutional texts coming from different directorates of the European Union. Nowadays I collaborate as an external Spanish translator with the European institutions through different translation agencies.
Everything I have learnt is reflected in the quality of my work. My goal is always to provide effective, reliable, and professional translation and conference interpreting services.
The kind of service you would recommend to a friend.
